You know, for a blog supposedly focused on writing I don’t seem to do an awful lot of it here, at least not lately.
Today I was going to ramble knowingly about the impact technology (computers primarily) have had on how we write. It would have been very informed and wise – after all, I’ve been [...]
I was reading an item about social networks and saw something in it related to writing that I take issue with.
It was a Business Week item from December 12, “The MySpace Generation” and it went: “But young consumers may follow brands offline — if companies can figure out how to talk to youths in their [...]

Yes, another … I’m trying Bill Smith’s Copperleaf Plus 1.3 with an image header change. The previous theme, though I liked it, was just little too minimal.
And I still have not gotten around to writing about writing, which is the whole point of this. But soon … soon …
At least I updated the blogroll from [...]

I hate that phrase “a learning experience.” It usually refers to something awful that happens to you that someone else is trying to put a positive spin on. Be that as it may …
I’ve decided I need to be a least half-informed about this stuff I’m working with so I picked up a couple of [...]

Other than the image changes, I’ve gone with Conestoga Street (Theron Parlin). I’ll probably make some other changes, particularly to the sidebar, once I figure out what I’m doing here.
It took a while tracking down a theme - there are a lot out there. Some I would have used but I simply don’t know enough [...]

I imagine I’ll be spending quite a bit of time on the weekend diddling with Writelfe since I have had no time so far this week. Work can be such a pain. It gets in the way of everything that’s interesting.
I want to change the layout in a big way. I’m a blue guy and [...]

Like a new house or apartment, I’ve moved in but haven’t really got the decor worked out.
I’m pretty sure a lot of it will change over the next little while, but at least I’m in.
And the URL is now http://writelife.net
Oh … and I’ve have to fix the time and date stuff but can’t do it [...]

First off, I like the fact that it as intuitive as brain surgery.
I also like that the interface was designed by a drunken monkey. And that the help links sometimes work, sometimes don’t - so it has the excitement of a crapshoot.
I also like that no matter how many times I publish my changes to [...]

There are several stops I like to make whenever I’m online (or when Bloglines reminds me of new posts). Actually, there are more than several but why be picky? Three come to mind immediately Seth Godin’s blog, James Lilek’s The Bleat and Ripples (David St. Lawrence). Much as I like them, all three leave me [...]

I laughed and I laughed when I saw Autoblogger (autoblogger.net). Thanks to Seth Godin’s blog for providing the link. I love to blog but sometimes you just have to giggle a bit over it, and the entire Internet for that matter.
Still, it’s exactly the kind of tool someone like me needs. I haven’t posted for [...]
