Creative energy

I have a post up today titled Creative energy is air. It’s over on Thoughtwrestling. It’s actually a companion post to one I had last week called Mental energy and physical health. They were intended to be two aspects of one thing, essentially a mind and body take on creative energy.

The Devil’s Dictionary

I’ve also been working off and on, in what you might call at desultory way, on The Devil’s Dictionary – 21st century edition. The original Devil’s Dictionary goes back to the late 1800′s and is by Ambrose Bierce, a curmudgeonly type of writer. (But very funny and a wonderful short story writer.)

Generally, I don’t like the trite negativism of things that are cynical. But every so often you need to clear the system by getting it out of your system. Thus, my version of The Devil’s Dictionary (still raw, still in progress and likely not ready to be live but I put it up anyway. Feel free to add to it in the comment area.)

Two last things

I’ve started to contribute to a movie site/blog called Movie with me. This is an aspect of my other site, Piddleville. My first contribution was a review of my favourite movie ever, My Man Godfrey.

And finally, I had a contribution at the local paper, one of three writers (I’m last in the article). The subject is tourism in my part of the world and it’s titled, New Brunswick needs to strut its stuff. Honestly, I don’t really like what I wrote but that’s primarily because the first draft was at least twice as long (probably longer). I had to cut a lot and I think it makes what I wrote come across as ill-informed ranting. But so it goes …
