An aside on the subject of writing

If you’re like many people, myself included, you might think writing is a great gig because you can do it almost anywhere, anytime. No computer? No problem. Do it old school: a scrap of paper and a pencil or pen.

It’s easy.

Or is it?

I’m here to tell you there are some conditions that put a damper on writing – whether you have the tools or not.

Writing (and editing) is darned difficult, if not impossible, when you have a cold or flu.

And why is that? Simple. You just don’t wanna!!!

That has been my state the last few days. Fortunately, this disagreeable phase is abating and I’m slowly returning to normal.

Flu is the death of writing. So is a cold. Nothing worth reading was ever written by someone with a runny nose.
