A new book; a freelance gig
January 8th, 2006 by Bill
Again, it’s been a long while since I’ve posted here. Sorry. But there hasn’t been much worth saying.
Not that it’s of any interest to anyone but myself, I’m currently reading Arthur & George by Julian Barnes. I’m utterly engaged and captivated by it which I find a bit odd as it’s written in a very pristine, deliberate style. The style reflects the historical period it focuses on (Victorian) and the characters (one of whom is Arthur Conan Doyle).
Anyway, I find it very good.
Also … I’ve taken on a freelance gig, which I haven’t done for a while. It involves some print ads, radio ads, press release, etc. … the usual thing. I’ve mixed feelings about it though. In one way, I like it because I’m using muscles I haven’t used for a while (so to speak). On the other hand, there’s a sense of “been there, done that.”
I’ll probably feel much better about it once I’m finished. While working on something I usually feel awful about it. Once complete, I feel great about it. Je suis ce qui suis je.
